World Marriage Day Celebrated In Style At Van Duyn!

February 11th was “World Marriage Day” and we wanted to do something special for our resident couples!

Two of our beloved couples were able to participate in this memorable event.Mr. and Mrs. Patton and Mr. and Mrs. Morgan. The Patton’s have been married for 67 years!!! When asked their key to success-Mrs. Patton replied “patience.”

We also had a couple, Roseanne and Michael Hurley. Roseanne worked at Van Duyn in Activities years ago. Her father, Michael Carbono was Van Duyns Head Chef during the 1960’s and 1970’s. Roseanne’s daughter and Chef Carbono’s grand-daughter is our very own Danielle Hurley, in Recreation Therapy. Three generations have now worked at Van Duyn! Roseanne and Mike purchased new wedding rings last week as Roseanne had lost hers. Deacon Mike Latizia blessed the new rings when they renewed their vows on Sunday with us.

Of course, we also had our very own Mary and Jason O’Neill participate in the festivities, along with their two children Grace and Evan. Mary and Jason have been married for 16 years.

Wedding Cake and Punch was served following the ceremony.

We have several photos of the event below.
