The dining experience at Van Duyn Center is a treat. In conjunction with our dietitian and Food Service Director, our talented chef prepares nutritious meals.
Meals are prepared daily, taking into account the dietary considerations of our residents. All entrees are freshly prepared in our kitchen, using reduced salt and sugar when necessary. Residents may choose their meal from an “Approved” menu that includes a main entrée as well as an alternate entrée for every lunch and dinner. Special therapeutic diets are provided as specifically prescribed by the attending physician and supervised by a dietician. Our clinical nursing staff monitors each dining room to ensure each resident is satisfied with their daily meals. Alternate meals, as well as sandwiches, are always available upon request.
Holiday meals are celebrated with festive traditions. Special meals such as pancake breakfasts and picnic lunches become social events that are greatly enjoyed. Each unit also houses a kitchenette, which ensures constant availability of beverages and light refreshments anytime of the day or night. Delicious snacks and nutritional supplements are provided per the request and/or by physician order.
